GET TO KNOW LOU

Lou is the founder of Lifted by Lou and Lifted Mums, a women’s fitness community focused on building strength, confidence, and empowerment through evidence-based training and supportive coaching.

Originally from the UK, Lou moved to Australia in 2010 and turned her passion for fitness into a career. Growing up sporty and competitive with three brothers, she initially focused on cardio like many women, but after travelling Asia and training in a Muay Thai gym in Thailand, she discovered the power of strength training. She returned to Australia to earn her fitness qualifications and began coaching on Bondi Beach.

Over the past decade, Lou has helped hundreds of women—from beginners to experienced lifters—break through barriers and build lasting physical and mental strength. Her coaching style is grounded in education, encouragement, and progressive overload programming, a proven method to improve strength, body composition, and long-term health.

Having worked in a male-dominated industry and experienced her own body’s changes, Lou recognised the need for coaching tailored to women’s unique life stages. She holds the Safe Return to Exercise qualification and recently completed her Menopause Coaching Certificate, ensuring she can support women with knowledgeable, science-backed guidance.

When she’s not coaching, Lou enjoys beach days with her rescue dog, Thelma—yes, as in Thelma and Louise.​
